My girlfriend will take her into the Mardi Gras ball. The problem is that I am a student, and have worked since the summer, so my money is a kind of dense. Does anybody know how much it costs to attend a Mardi Gras ball and what she would wear? Some are cheaper than others, I suppose. Who knows what is closer to my price range?

Can not buy a ticket to a carnival, .. except for the Krewe of Orpheus (see http://www.kreweoforpheus.net/) and $ 135 per person this year AFAIK, all other balls are by invitation only. The dress code is formal. Tux for men and ankle-length dresses for women. I have found in many (but not Orpheux) and to be honest, most are boring. You are not the kind of ball, thinking of most people. They dance only if you have is a call "out" a member of the Krewe, and an appeal that, during a dance.
